Greatest Engineer of INDIA "SIR MV"



Almost the day is going to end. Do u know today is what date, Yes its 15th September 2108. The birth date of greatest ENGINEER which INDIA has produced. “SIR MOKSHAGUNDAM VISVESVARAYA” popularly known as “SIR MV” Born & Death – 15th September 1861 – 12th April 1962 near Chikkaballapur in South Karnataka These year 2018 will remark the 50th anniversary of the ENGINEERS DAY in India. Some Facts of “SIR MV” Inventor of block system His work was becoming so popular that the Government of India sent him to Aden to study water supply and drainage system in 1906-07 He received INDIA highest honors BHARAT RATAN in 1955 The Visakhapatnam port was in danger of being eroded from the sea. SIR MV with his high intelligence and capabilities came up with a good solution to solve this issue During the decade of the 1900s Hyderabad city was reeling under the threats of flood. Once again the brilliant engineer supervised the engineering work at Hyderabad by lending his services as a Special Consulting Engineer in 1909. He was appointed as the Chief Engineer of Mysore State in 1909 He helped in founding of the Government Engineering College at Bangalore in 1917
